Series

New Italian Enviroments
Series' director: Silvio San Pietro
Refraining from any dubious attempt at typological analysis, the series will consist of a number of substantial volumes devoted to Italian "settings" designed for different purposes, both public and private. Above all, they will be tools of criticism and sources of information, with a marked documentary connotation, supplying ample and detailed information that will prove indispensable to both professionals and the public.

A story of the things and the ideas that have given rise to products.

Zoom
Series' director: Silvio San Pietro
The new issue of specialist publications from the presses of L'Archivolto opens with an inaugural number that introduces the series' characteristic zoom-lens view on specific architectural details: in turn, the exclusive focus of attention will be stairs, doors, windows, gates and railings, fireplaces, swimming pools, balconies, and terraces, so as to create a library of new project realizations. These single-theme books will be published alongside a companion series on individual environments with a distinct purpose, such as bathrooms, kitchens, mini-apartments, attics and garrets. Illustrated throughout with large-format photographs, each project is analyzed for its overall concept, with close-ups to show the and constructional details, technical solutions, the juxtaposition of materials, colors, and other particulars of the design. Providing a follow-up to the series "New Italian Environments" and "International Architecture & Interiors," the Zoom collection offers a useful working and reference tool, in line with the publisher's policy of providing the broadest possible repertoire of current design trends.

Wunderkammer
Series' director: Lanfranco Colombo
The "Wunderkammer" series, dedicated to the photography and published in limited edition in collaboration with Il Diaframma Gallery, has been careful tailored to suit the purpose: a neat package with flaps that open successively to reveal the photographs and their author. The opening presentation is followed by a brief critical overview, biographical notes and bibliography, and finally by the "exhibition" itself. Once the package is opened the photographs, printed on cards, can be removed and examined individually, thereby enabling each one to be studied separately, attentively, uncompromisingly, one after the other.

Diary
Series' director: Silvio San Pietro
Every years for ten years from 1987 to 1996 L'Archivolto has published a diary dedicated to one of the most representative figures in contemporary architecture. A precious diary, even a collector's item, that is a joy to skim through and that tempts its owner both to read and to make sketches: the ideal diary for an architect. Published in a limited run of only 500 copies, it contains an original and handsome silk-screen print. Intended for the collector, the print is numbered and signed and can be detached and framed. Four color plates mark the beginning of the seasons. Fifty-three projects illustrate the same number of weeks. A leather portfolio to hold the diary is also available.
